Bio:OK: so the stuff below is a waaay high-density and bombastic piss-intellectual/geeky synopsis, and it will probably scare away most who read it first, but hey, it is called "User Info". You will notice that the journal speaks more "regular English" most of the time.

as an experiment, I am embodying one of the cardinal/extremum personality-types: I make "rational" decisions (with a contrarian bias towards "uncommon" sense) about what life is, what an attractive goal for it is, and how to deal with its choices and its opportunities, in a way that perhaps over-earnestly seeks:
1) to keep getting better at all of this, and to keep getting better at that "getting better" itself
2) to build a fully self-consistent worldview in a way that is as logical and explainable as it logically makes sense to attempt

my other biases and filters are those of
- an educated multilingual upper-middle-class-raised white male cosmopolitan US-ian,
- an idealist and Romantic, determined to remain a dreamer and believe in the possibility of dramatic positive societal change benefiting almost everyone somewhat
- a theoretician bent on keeping his "current-version master-theory" consistent with a reasonable metatheory RE how to apply it to/in "existing" circumstances*
- someone who learned two foreign languages (really pretty damn fluently) specifically because he though that a valuable life-policy would have to seek to avoid linguistic/cultural bias, to a respectable extent.
- someone who believes it is disrespectful not to try to communicate with others in a dialect that they will be likely to be pretty unbiased against (since it would be unethical to hold other people responsible for gaining non-parochial worldviews if one doesn't know that they've had the background, opportunity, and familial/community/cultural values to make that practical).
- a guy who tries to be ethical**, respectful, egalitarian and as non-judgemental as ethically possible to people of all classes and backgrounds, but tries to avoid extended dealings with bigots and other members of the "unconvinceably biased"
- someone who thinks that a modified "scientific/rational" form of verbal expression is the best existing means for people of different cultures to minimize miscommunications for the purpose of respectful and minimally-self-defensive collaborative exploration of this human-condidtion thing, but who has also gone through the exercise of exploring whether there are theological interpretations that don't conflict with the weirdness=science of such a quantum-theory-consistent reality, and in the process learned how to express himself in "chistian" language.
- someone for whom most or all of these points may change as I learn or rationally intuit that it makes sense to, and who has a strong intuition that no rule or linguistically communication act can successfully avoid "all ambiguity" (I struggled through Eco's "Semiotics" book and decided it seemed likely).
- someone who believes it makes sense to give people the benefit of the doubt SEVERAL times before assuming that they've done something intentionally to hurt you (and/or thus to give them the opportunity to save face, if they have trouble admitting mistakes), and more chances (albeit perhaps at increasing intervals) to those whom one has thought of as loved/valued friends.
- someone who knows that there are unverbalisable "learnings" such as muscle-memories (e.g. guitar or epee fluency) and intuition-ological artistic and social skills.
- someone who believes instinct, gender-roles, unconscious social behaviors, and commonly-stumbled-into errors are likely to be in some way worthy of valuing/studying out of respect for nature
- someone who is predisposed towards trying to improve the natural and social environments, and thus being fair to future generations
- someone who respects kids as less-experienced, less-practiced equals
- someone who is comfortable with an analog scale of respect for life/suffering and fellow biotes (I'll kill microbes and mosquitos, and less comfortably some flies, but perhaps not rats, believe we have to err on the side of abortional choice, at least until women make the rules, believe omnivory is an acceptible choice, but believe omnivores should probably go hunting and kill something themselves if they are going to eat packaged meat.)
- someone who is very interested in the balance of powers/influencers/funders in the world, and in the potential for emergent technological movements to accelerate interesting "science-fictional" changes into the future (think Wikipedia, LJ, YouTube, shared-VRs).
- someone who clearly is willing to be an outlier/uncool/dork in expressing himself in this way, and by extension to be a "rebel" in at least important-seeming areas

*(one of my DBAs is "applied metatheory")
** as you can see in my at least giving the cursory thought involved in the parenthetical in the item right above this one)
